Finally got around to getting my rolls of film developed, which i shot while i was on holidays down south in December with my friend Christina. I had decided to leave my D3 at home, it’s too heavy and too expensive to carry around the whole time. So i took my Pentax P30n film camera with me, I got it given to me by a very old lady that wanted to get rid of it, Somehow she got my number and contacted me and asked me if i wanted it – I said yes of course. I absolutely LOVE film, there is nothing better than manual focus and manually setting the shutter speed and aperture. So here are the photos of the first 2 rolls i shot while i was down south for a couple of days, I didn’t know if the camera still worked properly but that’s the fun thing about film, you just don’t know what you’re gonna get. but used it anyways, and I’m glad i did, they turned out great. :)

ESMEE

This is my younger sister Esmee, I did a quick photo shoot with her last night. Her braces came out a couple of weeks ago, so she needed some new photos she could put up on facebook :)

What a great night it was, a night filled with fun, laughter and great activities for young and old. Awesome artists like Aiden Varro, Diesel & Boom! Bap! Paw! did a good job in creating a great atmosphere and got the crowd going. And lets not forget the firework show at 12PM, what great way to welcome 2010.

The city of Rockingham put on an awesome festival!!! Well done

I was there to photograph the event

On the 24th of December (Last day of work for the year) I had the privilege to go up in a Helicopter with my boss Kingsley. The weather conditions were superb, Clear sky and no wind. We got some awesome shots.

I’m babysitting my bosses 200mm lens for a couple of weeks, he is holidaying it up with the Germans at the moment, and seeing this lens is too heavy, he decided to leave it at home…great choice boss :) My arms get an awesome work out every time i lift it up…Hello great arm muscles. I would love to get this lens myself but it’s a bit too heavy to carry around at photo shoots and juts a tad out of my price range…You can pick one of these babies up for about $5,500. Yep not gonna happen. I took it outside this afternoon where my 2 baby sisters were chillin, and managed to get some snaps. Oh and Merry Christmas everyone

Photo’s from the Helo shoot over Kwinana, Rockingham, Point Peron & Penguin Island soon. Possibly in the new year.

I did a short shoot on Tuesday for Steve and Sandra, they traveled all the way from the UK to sunny Rockingham to renew their wedding vows. Super Cute.

My boss (Kingsley) thought sending me up in an airplane would be a nice birthday present, well he is not wrong. So off I went to Jandakot Airport yesterday morning to meet Gordon my pilot for the day. When i got there, he informed me that i would have 2 pilots flying me around -GREAT. We departed from Jandakot around 11 and headed towards Esperance. WOW the views were absolutely breathtaking. We touched down in Esperance to get some more fuel. A whole 800L more fuel! Next destination was Albany. Got some nice Albany Coastline shots. We safely arrived back in Perth around 4 in the arvo! All in all a fantastic day. A big thank-you goes out to my boss for giving me this once in a lifetime opportunity.

“As I have practiced it, photography produces pleasure by simplicity. I see something special and show it to the camera. A picture is produced. The moment is held until someone sees it. Then it is theirs.”
